Real Estate Notes: One Bellevue Place lands Burlington
July 12, 2016

May 25, 2016 – Kylie Moore, Charlotte Agenda

Waverly, south Charlotte’s newest multi-use development is moving along quickly.

It’s a project by Childress Klein, Crosland Southeast and, interestingly enough, the Matthews family. The land has been in the family since 1860, when it was gifted as a wedding present to Sarah Houston when she married William Matthews, and the family chose Childress Klein and Crosland Southeast specifically to develop the land.

The 90-acre plot of land just south of I-485 is in the process of being turned into a pedestrian-friendly area focusing on outside dining and shopping.

In addition to retail, there will be Class A corporate office space, just under 400 upscale apartments (these will be called Solis Waverly) and 150 single-family and townhomes.

There will be 250,000-square feet of retail and more than 25 tenants have signed leases. A 40,000-square foot Whole Foods will anchor the retail and the first tenants are expected to open this fall.
