  • Mixed & Multi-Use Development

    Crosland Southeast has extensive experience at repositioning obsolete, deteriorating regional malls and vacant parcels of land into dynamic and relevant multi-use and mixed-use developments. Our team is well known for high profile mixed-use and multi-use lifestyle projects such as Blakeney and Birkdale Village in Charlotte, NC, Biltmore Park Town Square in Asheville, NC, and innovative public-private partnerships like the Cloverleaf Mall redevelopment in Richmond, VA. These projects are embraced by retailers and shoppers alike for being walkable, architecturally appealing, and for integrating public open space where people can gather, listen to music and enjoy the outdoors. With proper execution, these elements combine to create a vibrant sense of community within a project and can transform a passive, dilapidated or underused piece of land into a center of activity for the community.

  • Single-Tenant / Build-to-Suit Development

    A growing part of our business is providing build-to-suit services to single-tenant retailer and medical office clients. We are very active and cost effective with these projects. We approach every retailer relationship as if we were part of their internal real estate team, and as such we serve as a preferred development partner. With equal focus on strategy and execution, we react quickly to the needs of our retail clients to create comprehensive development solutions. This client-centered perspective drives us to solutions that are always in the retailer’s best interest, and our track record of delivering quality projects on time and within budget is exceptional. We intend to be very purposeful about growing this portion of our business and our build-to-suit resume currently includes clients such as Family Dollar, Walgreens, CVS, Goodyear, Barnes & Noble and HCA Healthcare.

  • Grocery-Anchored Neighborhood Centers

    Grocery-anchored neighborhood centers are our bread and butter. For more than 4 decades, we have developed for and partnered with the leading grocers in our markets, including Harris Teeter, Kroger, Publix, Lowe’s Foods, and Food Lion. We remain highly active in this segment, developing for our own account, partnering with landowners, and in some cases developing for a fee for legacy landowners.

  • Mixed-income Residential Development

    We launched our mixed-income residential division, CSE Communities, out of a deep conviction that the crisis in affordable housing is a “Community-wide problem” and not a problem that only affects our lower-income neighbors.  The CSE Communities leadership brings decades of expertise to our mixed-income residential projects, responding to a real need for more diverse housing options with high-quality projects that enhance and complement their surrounding neighborhoods. Our team plans to start construction on its first mixed-income community, Evoke Sugar Creek, a 180-unit development in Charlotte, in the spring of 2019.

  • Acquisitions

    Crosland Southeast is leveraging its relationships with retailers and deep industry expertise to expand its acquisitions platform. The deal team co-invests with limited partners into well-located and value-add centers and properties focused on necessity driven, experience-oriented retailers in great locations. Our team of entrepreneurial professionals are passionate about capturing and creating value and have targeted the Carolinas, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida and Virginia where we’re already active.

  • Medical Office Development

    While the Crosland Southeast team is well known for developing large-scale mixed-use projects, a core focus of the company is the programmatic development of single-tenant retail and medical properties for select tenant relationships as the trend continues for medical providers locating near their patients. Our team’s dedication to quality and customer service is demonstrated by the relationships we continue to hold with tenants throughout North Carolina and Virginia. In 2013, Crosland Southeast increased its medical office building resume with the commencement of a dozen projects for tenants including FastMed, Novant Healthcare, HCA Holdings, and Eye Care Associates.
