Flowers Crossroads is a 28-acre multi-use site which will be anchored by the first Harris Teeter grocery store in Johnston County, just east of Raleigh, N.C. The site is located at the center of 3,000 acre Flowers Plantation located on Highway 42, east of Clayton. The area has been developed under a master plan of development since 1986. The 3,000 acres has five miles of road frontage along 42 East, and Flowers Crossroads will be a core central strategically planned center of activity not only for retail but commercial and medical facilities. Flowers Plantation was the first zoned PUD in Johnston County with a reserved residential development density of 7,790 homes and unlimited commercial space. There are currently 115 active residential subdivisions within a 5-mile trade area which will utilize Flowers Crossroads for all necessity shopping goods. The historical growth of this trade area was 6% between 2001 and 2010 according to Census Bureau data.
We began construction late Fall 2012 with anticipated opening date of Fall 2013. The 53,000 square foot Harris Teeter will have a drive-up pharmacy window and express lane ordering. Mike Wiggins is the lead developer of Flowers Crossroads.
